Job description

COMPANY: Flyer

JOB TITLE: Studio Director

DATE: July 2026

REPORTS TO: Ryan Zatcoff, President

NUMBER OF HOURS : 40 hours/week, Full Time

Flyer is a creative production company. We design key art, build websites, and create marketing materials at every scale, from banner ads to theater signage.

This role runs the shop. You’re managing who’s working on what and why, translating client needs into priorities the team can act on right now. You’re hiring, building the bench, and making sure the right people are on the right projects. A good portion of your time will be spent managing expectations in both directions, with clients and internally. It’s a lot of plates, and the plates don’t stop.

You don’t need to be the best designer in the room, but you need to speak the language. You should be able to walk into any creative conversation, understand what a project actually requires to execute, and know when something is off before it becomes a problem.

We’re a company in motion. That means you’ll be building processes as you go and making calls without a complete picture sometimes. We want someone who finds that energizing.

We’d love for you to show up with a network of creative professionals you already know and trust, people you’d be genuinely excited to bring in as the team grows.

We’re also trying to stay ahead of tools that help creative teams work smarter, especially on the production and layout side. If you’ve been paying attention to what’s out there and have real opinions about it, that matters to us.

What we care about:
  • You’ve run a creative studio or agency and can describe what that looked like on a hard day.
  • You can triage. When three things hit at once and a client is waiting, you know what to do first.
  • You’ve managed creative people and they’ve liked working for you.
  • You communicate clearly and quickly, to clients, to designers, to account managers, to everyone.
  • You think about the process without being precious about it.
What we don’t care about:
  • Your degree.
  • Which applications you have experience with.
  • A generic cover letter.

If you haven’t actually run a studio before, this role probably isn’t the right fit. But if you have, we’d love to hear about a specific moment where everything went sideways and what you did about it. That’s the application.

COMPENSATION
  • Salary: $100,000
  • Paid Time Off (PTO) (vacation, sick leave, holidays)
  • Hybrid Policy (Tues-Thurs office, Mon/Fri WFH)
  • Medical & Dental coverage
  • Family Leave coverage
  • 401(k) retirement plans
  • Cell Phone reimbursement
  • Laptop provided
