Job summary

Medway Public Schools is seeking a Specialized Van Driver (7D) in Medway, MA. This part-time role involves transporting students safely to and from schools, with a split shift schedule (morning and afternoon) and 20–25 hours per week.

Requirements include 21+ years old, 3+ years US driving, valid license and 7D license (or ability to obtain), clean driving record, and background checks. Routes may extend to MetroWest and Boston area.

Qualifications

• Must be 21 years of age or older.
• 3+ years of driving experience in the US.
• Valid driver’s license.
• Valid 7D license or able to obtain.
• Good driving record.
• Pass a CORI and SORI background check.
• Pass a fingerprint check.
• Must provide an unattested driver history.

Responsibilities

• Provide safe and timely transport of Medway students to and from the schools they attend.
• Perform daily safety checks of vehicle and equipment; report problems.
• Maintain cleanliness of interior and exterior of vehicle.
• Ensure the vehicle has adequate gasoline prior to routes.
• Operate vehicle per Federal and State traffic laws.
• Complete daily pre-trip and post-trip inspections; logs.
• Provide First Aid as trained.
• Secure students and equipment with restraints for safety.
• Assist students to enter and exit the vehicle.
• Address behavior issues and file incident reports as needed.
• Release students only to approved individuals; contact transportation office when in doubt.
• Follow emergency protocols in the Van Driver/Monitor Manual.
• Additional duties as assigned by Transportation Coordinator.
