Job summary

Ventura Unified School District is seeking candidates to join the Transportation Department to transport students to and from school and activities, assist drivers with loading and monitoring, and provide behavior support during transit.

Under supervision, operate a district vehicle up to nine passengers, meet licensing and training requirements, and comply with district policies. Eligible hires may enter an advanced placement and salary steps; district emphasizes safety and professional conduct.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent and six months of experience working with children and/or young adolescence.
• Alternatively, current enrollment in or completion of VUSD’s Bus Driver Training Program meets the experience requirement.

Responsibilities

• Assist in transporting students to and from school and activities under supervision.
• Assist drivers with loading, unloading, securing and monitoring students.
• Provide behavior support and guidance to students during transportation.
• Operate a district vehicle (up to a nine passenger) to provide safe transportation for students.
