Job summary

Qualifications

• Valid CDL Class B with Passenger and School Bus endorsements.
• Current DOT physical within one year.
• Clean driving record and safe operating history.

Responsibilities

• Safely drives a school bus on days when school is in session over designated routes.
• Transports students, teachers and others on field trips.
• Inspects bus daily to ensure safety and cleanliness.
• Cleans and refuels bus as needed.
• Ensures communication device is working before each trip.
• Reports mechanical deficiencies, traffic violations or accidents promptly.
• Arranges for routine maintenance and transport to service locations.
• Maintains order and discipline among students per district policies.
• Tracks route timing and prepares reports on timing and efficiency.
• Follows procedures to ensure no child is left alone on bus.
• Prepares for bus drills and ensures evacuation drills are conducted.
• Performs other related tasks as assigned.
