Job summary

Wayne Township Public Schools seeks a Paraprofessional Instructional (cert) at Lafayette Elementary School to support students under a certified teacher. Responsibilities include reinforcing instruction, behavior, and daily living skills, with clerical support as needed.

Under supervision, the paraprofessional aids with classroom management and data collection while maintaining confidentiality and providing safe, supportive learning environments.

Qualifications

• Applicant must have minimum of 60 college credits or a passing score on the ParaPro Assessment.

Responsibilities

• Reinforces personal, social, behavioral, and academic goals for students.
• Assist with classroom management and provide positive behavioral supports.
• Support student participation with prompting, cueing, modeling, and coaching.
• Promote student independence and fading supports as appropriate.
• Assist staff in maintaining a safe learning environment across settings (lunchrooms, study halls, playgrounds, buses).
• Observe and document student actions; provide data input when required.
• Provide minor clerical assistance to certified staff.
• Accept field trips and before/after school assignments if available.
• Maintain confidentiality of students at all times.
