The Clarenceville School District is located in the metropolitan Detroit suburbs, serving students in Livonia, Farmington and Redford and also surrounding communities through schools of choice. It is centrally located within a half hour of Downtown Detroit, Metro Airport, Ann Arbor and an hour from Lansing. It is located in a desirable community and is known for its welcoming feel due to its small size.

ROLE:

To assist in the overall student management and dealings of student restorative needs, focusing on Positive Behavior Intervention Supports to reduce discipline referrals and suspensions. Serve as a resource and consultant to teachers in implementing an intervention program that utilizes conflict resolution and decision-making strategies aimed at preventing occurrences of disruptive acts by students within the school and on school property.

QUALIFICATIONS:

Bachelor's Degree with training and experience in successful work with youth as it relates to fostering school success through restorative practices and facilitating the development of a positive and welcoming school climate and culture.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Manage, support, and provide targeted instruction to a data-driven caseload of students requiring Tier 2 and 3 support to develop adaptive strategies to school success, including but not limited to peer relationships, managing conflict, understanding feelings, and emotional control.
• Manage student supervision issues and enforce school behavioral expectations.
• Serve as a resource in decreasing discipline problems through an understanding of peer relations, teacher-pupil relations, and social awareness.
• Support classroom Tier 1 RULER and PBIS implementation.
• Ensure the physical and emotional safety of all students and staff.
• Enforce the school's Code of Conduct.
• Counsel students and parents about restorative practices.
• Assists staff and parents in developing student behavioral expectations.
• Assist in the planning, development, and implementation of individual student behavior plans.
• Serve as a resource to staff in dealing with classroom management issues.Collaborate with school staff and administration to assist in developing programs to promote positive student behavior as well as intervention strategies.
• Develops, coordinates the implementation of, and promotes restorative practices programming at various school sites.
• Implement proactive and responsive restorative practices to foster a safe, supportive, and positive school culture.
• Develop appropriate drug and alcohol intervention and interdiction strategies.
• Assist in monitoring student prevention of negative actions.
• Be part of extra-curricular activities as a means to build strong relationships.
• Keep all data updated via MISTAR.
• Collects data, provides progress reports, and participates in program evaluations to determine the efficacy of school-wide cultural systems.
• Work with counselors to support students by leveraging restorative practices strategies.
• Plan and deliver professional development to staff with regard to restorative practice strategies.
• Meet with the Wellness Coordinator bi-weekly to review caseloads.
• Performs all other duties as directed by the building administrator(s) and Director of Student Services.
