Job summary

Stokes County Schools at North Stokes High in Danbury, NC seeks an ISS Teacher Assistant to support the lead teacher with instruction and classroom activities. This 10-month, 7.5-hour day position is full-time with benefits and starts immediately.

The role includes one-on-one student support, record-keeping, and assisting with clerical tasks and classroom materials. Reporting to the Principal or lead teacher, you will monitor student safety, help maintain discipline, and assist with assessments

Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED with 48 college hours or WorkKeys requirement.
• Ability to support lead teacher and reinforce instruction.
• Strong record-keeping and clerical skills.
• Effective communication with students and staff.
• Ability to monitor safety and assist with behavior management.

Responsibilities

• Assists teacher with executing instruction and evaluating its effectiveness.
• Monitors safety and well-being of students; monitors attitudes and encourages independence.
• Maintains student behavior and records time out and in-class suspension; assists with crisis prevention.
• Assists students with learning; provides one-on-one help and supports study skills.
• Maintains standardized records and documentation concerning student progress.
• Performs clerical duties; maintains class files, notes, and instructional materials.
