Job summary

Rivermont Schools is seeking a Mental Health Associate to support students with emotional, behavioral, and developmental challenges. You’ll assist with academics, daily routines, and behavioral support, working with teachers, therapists, and families to ensure a consistent, caring learning environment.

Requirements include a high school diploma, basic computer skills, and strong communication. The role emphasizes de-escalation, documentation, and teamwork to help students reach their potential.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent.
• Basic computer skills including Outlook and Word.
• Strong communication, reading, writing, and documentation skills.
• Reliable, punctual and adaptable team player.
• Patient, calm and resilient when supporting escalated students.
• Passion for helping students with learning or behavioral differences.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with academics, social skills, and daily living needs across age groups from elementary to high school.
• Observe behavior, document notes, and share updates with the team to adjust strategies.
• Support self-help skills including toileting, feeding, and hygiene to promote independence.
• Use de-escalation techniques to maintain a supportive, structured environment.
• Collaborate with teachers, therapists, BCBA(s), and parents for consistent, individualized support.
