Job summary

The Individual Care Aide supports teachers and assists students within classrooms and across the facility. The role helps implement the educational program and acts as a student advocate, contributing to goal achievement and overall student success.

Work days total 177 with a schedule of 7.25 hours per day; pay range is $18.04–$24.04 per hour based on experience, with IMRF benefits and board paid. IL paraprofessional license preferred and minimum age 19.

Qualifications

• Associate degree or higher is preferred; 60 college credits or HS diploma with additional/ACT Workkeys/Parapro accepted.

Responsibilities

• Assist teachers in presenting lessons and implementing instructional strategies to support student learning.
• Create a positive classroom environment that fosters social interaction and self-motivation.
• Maintain classroom materials and assist with organization, transitions, and behavior management.
• Track and record student data and assist with progress monitoring and data input.
• Follow policies and maintain confidentiality; collaborate with staff and parents as needed.
