Job summary

Goodwin University is seeking a Practical Nursing Student Support Advisor to promote access, persistence and completion for PN students. You will guide applicants from initial inquiry through enrollment, coordinate onboarding, and connect students with academic and University resources.

The role emphasizes confidential advising within established policies, outreach at key transition points, and collaboration with tutoring, counseling, financial aid and accessibility services to support student

Qualifications

  • Experience in student services or admissions preferred.
  • Knowledge of FERPA and confidentiality practices.
  • Ability to provide onboarding and advising within policies.
  • Strong written and oral communication.

Responsibilities

  • Respond to prospective-student questions and explain PN application steps, deadlines, prerequisite documentation and next actions.
  • Assist applicants with completing application requirements and monitor outstanding items without making admission decisions.
  • Support newly admitted students through onboarding, orientation, technology access, required forms, compliance activities and readiness checklists.
  • Provide limited advising on program processes, schedules, registration steps, available resources and published policies; refer academic decisions to the appropriate academic leader.
  • Maintain regular outreach with students at key transition points and follow up with students who miss required activities or show signs of disengagement.
  • Help students develop practical success plans addressing time management, study routines, attendance, communication and use of academic-support services.
  • Connect students with tutoring, counseling, accessibility services, financial aid, emergency resources and other University supports.
  • Document contacts, referrals, onboarding progress and follow-up actions in approved systems while maintaining confidentiality.
