Job summary

Jefferson County Public Schools seeks an instructional assistant to support the classroom under the supervising teacher or Principal. You will tutor students, assist in documenting pupil progress, and help prepare and organize materials and equipment to sustain daily learning activities.

The position follows the district's 187-day calendar with a 6.5-hour workday, and pays $22.65–$24.85 per hour. Minimum qualifications include a high school diploma or GED, Kentucky Para-educator requirements,

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Pass Kentucky Para-educator Assessment or have 48 college hours.
• Competent language skills.
• Experience working with children individually or in groups.
• Program training per KDE and local district.
• Program certifications/training may be required.
• Strong communication skills.
• If highest education is HS/GED, you must take the Kentucky Paraeducator Assessment (free; up to three attempts).
• Credentials from outside the U.S. must be evaluated before referrals.
• Accurate information in the online application; no falsification.
