Marian High School seeks a dynamic, flexible, and mission-driven educator to serve in a unique schoolwide support role. This position is ideal for an individual who thrives in a fast-paced environment, enjoys building meaningful relationships with students, and embraces the opportunity to make a positive impact throughout the school day.

Rather than being assigned to a single classroom, the Student Success & Support Teacher serves wherever students and teachers need them most. One moment may involve providing classroom instruction as a substitute teacher, while the next may include welcoming students between classes, supporting lunch supervision, assisting with academic interventions, or helping de-escalate student concerns with compassion and professionalism.

This role is an integral part of Marian's daily operations and student life. The successful candidate will be a calm, visible, and trusted adult who helps create a school environment where students feel known, supported, and challenged to grow.

Responsibilities

Responsibilities may include, but are not limited to:

• Serve as the primary in-house substitute teacher when classroom coverage is needed on short notice.
• Build positive relationships with students through a consistent, visible presence throughout the school day.
• Monitor hallways during class transitions, helping maintain a welcoming, orderly, and safe environment.
• Assist students in remaining focused, engaged, and ready to learn.
• Help de-escalate student conflicts and redirect behavior in a respectful, relationship-centered manner.
• Provide academic support, tutoring, or supervised study sessions as assigned.
• Partner with administrators, counselors, and faculty to support student success.
• Assist with special events, assemblies, testing, retreats, and other school activities.
• Model Marian High School's mission, values, and expectations in all interactions.
• Perform other instructional and student-support duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Preferred candidates will possess:

• Valid Michigan Teaching Certificate preferred.
• Bachelor's degree required.
• Experience working with adolescents in an educational setting.
• Outstanding interpersonal and relationship-building skills.
• Strong classroom management and student engagement abilities.
• Ability to problem solve and adapt quickly and confidently to changing priorities.
• Calm, positive demeanor with effective conflict resolution and de-escalation skills.
