Job summary

Smithville Maple Elementary School is seeking an Essential Skills Instructional Assistant to support the instructional program within assigned classrooms. You will work with individual students and small groups, reinforcing learning concepts and assisting with reading, writing, and activities.

Under supervision, you will implement lesson plans, maintain records, and help ensure a safe, supportive learning environment.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting students individually or in small groups.
• Familiarity with IEP objectives and confidentiality.
• Ability to reinforce classroom concepts and routines.

Responsibilities

• Adapts activities and materials under teacher direction to reinforce objectives.
• Assists students with lessons, reading, writing, and practice activities.
• Attends meetings and shares information regarding student needs.
• Communicates with teachers and staff to monitor progress and confidentiality.
• Implements instructional plans and maintains records and files.
• Supervises students in various settings to ensure safety and learning.
