Job summary

Qualifications

• Must hold valid Michigan secondary certification.
• Counseling endorsement or license required.
• Recent counseling experience or professional development within the last five years.
• Ability to relate positively to students, parents, community and staff.
• Have group counseling skills and be an assertive student advocate.
• Ability to handle confidential information appropriately.

Responsibilities

• Provide a comprehensive guidance and counseling program for all students.
• Support social, emotional, academic, and career development for each student.
• Consult with teachers, parents, and staff to enhance student education and welfare.
• Maintain confidentiality while ensuring safety of students and staff.
• Follow laws and district policies on student welfare and reporting.
• Deliver individual and small group counseling as needed across grades.
• Coordinate with PBIS and school improvement initiatives.
