Job summary

About Our School

Sanford High School is located in York County in Southern Maine 45 minutes south of Portland, less than 2 hours north of Boston, and only 15 minutes from the ocean and the lakes region. We are very proud of our state-of-the-art, 360,000 square foot facility that intertwines High School and Vocational programming and includes a Performing Arts Center and athletic complex. Job Description

Sanford High School is seeking an energetic, personable person who thrives working in a collaborative professional atmosphere to help transition high school students back into the classroom following an extended absence. We are seeking someone who enjoys building strong rapport with students, has excellent communication skills, and understands the social emotional needs of students and Restorative Practices, while effectively managing and academically supporting a small group of students transitioning back into the classroom. Using a Restorative approach, this person will help students understand their behaviors, repair any harm caused by their actions, and help eliminate repeat offenses. This person will work with administration, counselors, and teachers on a daily basis. A person working in this position will also work in coordination with an attendance coordinator to assist a small population of students with credit recovery through an online platform. The student success center will provide students with a small, quiet working environment to access online materials. This is an Ed Tech III position, which requires direct supervision of students.



Essential Functions


  • Works with students and staff to determine academic needs of the individual.

  • Uses technology to follow and document student progress on a daily basis.

  • Organizes and maintains a system for accurate attendance.

  • Informs school counselors, administration, and staff of student progress.

  • Facilitates social emotional and restorative opportunities for students with school discipline issues.

  • Work with school counselors and the attendance coordinator to enroll students in online courses.

  • Use Edgenuity, an online platform to aid students in credit recovery.



Additional Duties

Performs other related tasks as assigned by the Principal and other Administrators as designated by the Superintendent.



Rate of Pay

Rate of Pay: $22.32 - $31.90/hour




  • Ability to use computer network system and software applications as needed.

  • Ability to organize and coordinate work.

  • Ability to communicate effectively with students and teachers.

  • Ability to engage in self-evaluation with regard to performance and professional growth.

  • Ability to establish and maintain cooperative working relationships with others contacted in the course of work.

  • Ability to use Google platform to organize and share data.
