Job summary

Lone Star College seeks an Advisor II at the Tomball campus to serve as the first contact for students and provide guidance on degree planning, program requirements, course selection, and enrollment. Advocates for student success and represents the college in internal and external communications.

You will support transfer to four-year institutions, monitor cohorts, assist with resumes and employment opportunities, and collaborate with campus offices to ensure compliance and student progress.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree and at least 3 years of related experience.
• Experience in higher education preferred.
• Experience advising students who have barriers to success is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Provides individualized academic advising on degree requirements and course selection.
• Guides students through transition to four-year institutions.
• Coordinates transfer events with College Relations and universities.
• Monitors, tracks and reports progress on a cohort group of students.
• Develops workshops and information sessions and advises students on employment opportunities in their field.
• Advises and assists students in creating resumes and cover letters.
