Responsibilities

• Patrol the assigned campus buildings and the perimeter.
• Maintain high visibility during arrival, dismissal, and lunch.
• Monitor external security of the buildings and restrict unauthorized access.
• Make recommendations to correct identified security issues on campus.
• Observe arrival and departure of students and interact with parents as needed.
• Develops and fosters communication with patrolling law enforcement and administrators.

To work alongside the Student Security Coordinator and school level administrators to provide a safe and secure campus.

Responsibilities

• Patrol the assigned campus both inside the buildings and the perimeter.


• Be highly visible on campus with a focus on before and after school and at lunch.


• Maintain external security of the buildings.


• Make recommendations to correct identified security issues on campus.


• Observe arrival and departure of students.


• Ensure that no unauthorized individuals gain access to the campus.


• Work with the staff to intervene in situations that can cause disruptions of the learning environment.


• Monitors video surveillance at the school.


• Becomes a part of the school threat assessment team.


• Be available when parents are on campus to prevent disruptions.


• Develops and fosters communication with the patrolling law enforcement agency that serves their school.


• Communicates regularly with the site administration as well as the direct supervisor.


• Is available to interact with parents in an educational setting.


• Completes other assigned duties.

Knowledge/Education/Experience

Qualifications

• High School Diploma or GED required.


• Ability to qualify for appropriate licensure or TN POST certification.


• Weapons qualifications at or above established standards.


• Certified in First Aid, CPR and “Stop the Bleed”.

Skills/Qualifications

• Ability to communicate verbally and in writing.


• Knowledge of and ability to use a portable radio.


• Use of basic computer skills.

Compensation

Salary is based on a combination of relevant education and experience.
