Student Resource Center Operational Associate

Position Overview

The Student Operational Associate supports daily Resource Center and equipment checkout operations, including checking equipment in and out, maintaining accurate inventory, and ensuring equipment is organized and ready for use. This position assists students and faculty, follows established procedures, and reports equipment, inventory, or operational issues requiring additional attention.

Job Description

• 40% - Equipment Checkout & Customer Service Check equipment in/out, assist students and faculty, answer routine questions and explain checkout procedures.
• 25% - Equipment Readiness & Organization Inspect returned equipment, charge devices, organize equipment, prepare kits and ensure items are ready for the next checkout.
• 15% - Inventory & Record Accuracy Maintain accurate checkout records, verify equipment and accessories, identify discrepancies, and assist with routine inventory checks.
• 10% - Late, Missing & Damaged Equipment Procedures Identify overdue or incomplete returns, document problems, send/assist with established notifications, and elevate issues according to policy.
• 10% - Resource Center Operations & Other Duties Maintain an organized checkout area, complete opening/closing procedures, follow SOPs and daily checklists, and assist with other operational tasks as assigned.

Required Qualifications

1. One or more years of experience with Mac devices and cameras/photography equipment as evidenced in application materials.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience or education that has developed skills in photography or videography, as seen in application materials.
• Experience with device solutions and technical support, can resolve appropriate technology and equipment issues.
• Experience with Microsoft Teams as a communication and collaboration tool.
• Experience with conducting and/or maintaining inventory.

Position Requirements

• During the semester term of the appointment, the student hourly must be enrolled in no fewer than 6 credit hours. For summer periods the student hourly must: (1) have been enrolled in no less than 6 hours in the past spring semester or (2) be pre-enrolled in the upcoming fall semester in no less than 6 hours or (3) be enrolled in summer session or (4) be admitted to study in the upcoming fall semester. Student Hourlies may be undergraduate or graduate students. (Exceptions granted for GRA/GTA/GA appointments DO NOT apply to Student Hourly appointments).
• Able to commit to a set schedule and open to school’s need for occasional extra hours, as stated in application materials.

Employment Conditions

(1) Student employees are not eligible for remote work arrangements unless an exception is approved by the unit leadership and HR.

(2) This is an hourly/non-exempt position. A student employee cannot hold an hourly/non-exempt position and a salaried/exempt graduate or undergraduate position (GRA/GTA/GA/RUA/RGA) concurrently.
