ByteDance's Seed Vision team in San Jose is seeking a Student Researcher - Seed Model - Vision for a 2027 start. This internship offers hands-on research on foundational vision models, multimodal generation, and cutting-edge computer vision challenges in GenAI.

You will support research and development, experiment with model improvements and evaluation methods, implement algorithms, and collaborate with researchers and engineers.

Qualifications

• BS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Strong coding skills and understanding of data structures and algorithms, proficient in Python or C/C++.
• Experience with machine learning or related areas through coursework, projects, or internships.
• MS degree in related fields preferred; publications in CV/ML are a plus.

About the team The Seed Vision team focuses on foundational models for visual generation, developing multimodal generative models, and carrying out leading research and application development to solve fundamental computer vision challenges in GenAI. We are looking for talented individuals to join our team. As a graduate, you will get opportunities to pursue bold ideas, tackle complex challenges, and unlock limitless growth. Preferred Qualifications:

• Individuals who are completing or have recently completed a MS degree in Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, Electrical and Computer Engineering, Physics, Mathematics, or a related discipline.
• Demonstrated research track record with publications in conferences related to computer vision and machine learning.
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills.

Job Information

The hourly rate range for this position in the selected city is $55- $55.

Benefits may vary depending on the nature of employment and the country work location. Interns have day one access to health insurance, life insurance, wellbeing benefits and more. Interns also receive 10 paid holidays per year and paid sick time (56 hours if hired in first half of year, 40 if hired in second half of year). Interns who are not working 100% remote may also be eligible for housing allowance.
