The University of Saint Augustine for Health Sciences is seeking a Student Worker – Research Assistant to contribute to the research process under supervision of a lead faculty on an identified research agenda. The work may relate to a faculty project, grant, journal article, or other research activities.

The role emphasizes data entry and literature review, requires a 3.0+ GPA, enrollment in an OTD graduate program, strong writing and communication skills, and the ability to work independently

Qualifications

• Must have a GPA of 3.0 or better on all coursework completed and be currently enrolled in an OTD graduate level degree program.
• Individuls should be in good standing with the University.
• Must possess strong professional writing, editorial, and communication skills.
• Must be organized and capable of solving issues, responding to general questions and routine requests for information.
• Be able to work independently, as well as in a team environment.
• Must be able to prioritize tasks and manage multiple projects with minimal supervision.
• Commit to approximately 7 hours per week; may work up to 15 hours per week with Program Director authorization.

Responsibilities

• Completion of training for protection of research subjects
• Review the previous work on the assigned research agenda, compile and enter data into Excel, Access, or SPSS
• Distribute, collect and enter survey data as needed
• Conducting evidence-based searches on indicated topics
• Will assist faculty by participating in, scheduling, and helping distribute lab activities
• Duties may include assisting with the consent process, email communication, document organization and storage
• Complete literature review and create an annotated bibliography of the relevant articles
• Proofread and make necessary edits to research documents to ensure accuracy
