Job summary

The Oregon Institute of Occupational Health Sciences at OHSU is seeking a non‑OHSU student worker to assist with human-participant research. Responsibilities include screening, enrolling, recruiting, retaining participants; coordinating visits and schedules; obtaining consents; and performing blood draws and saliva collections.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in or on vacation from an Undergraduate program (minimum 6 credit hours).
• Must be at least 18 years old to handle blood and saliva samples in the lab.
• Advanced knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
• Exceptional organizational skills and ability to manage multiple priorities.
• Excellent interpersonal communication skills.
• Able to be self-motivated, prioritize effectively and meet deadlines.
• Ability to gather, compile, analyze and maintain information from diverse sources (research publications, web sources, contacts).
• Ability to exercise discretion handling sensitive information and maintain research integrity.

Responsibilities

• Collect and analyze data under direct supervision in lab or field.
• Perform data entry and validation.
• Conduct literature reviews.
• Travel to field research sites to support activities.
• Assist with outreach (mailings, website).
• Sample processing, assays, data collection, and lab maintenance.
• Coordinate study visits and obtain consents for human-participant research.
