Job summary

UnityPoint Health seeks a Student Radiologic Technologist to support patient care within the radiology department. You will assist with clerical, technical and patient-related tasks while enrolled in an accredited Rad Tech program.

Responsibilities include patient check-in, exam preparation, education and transportation, under supervision. CPR within 3 months of hire is required; prior healthcare experience is a plus.

Qualifications

• Enrolled in the 2nd year of an accredited Radiologic Technology program and in good standing.
• Healthcare or customer service experience preferred.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Knowledge of basic anatomy and medical terminology.
• Strong patient care and communication skills.
• Basic computer skills and ability to multitask.
• Ability to work independently and with others; assist with exams and patient transport.
• Ability to lift and position patients as needed.

Responsibilities

• Assist care team with clerical, technical and patient-related tasks.
• Support patient check-in, preparation, education and transport.
• Assist with exams and procedures under supervision.
• Maintain communication with patients, families and team members.
• Use hospital software and equipment as trained.
