Job summary

Beloit Health System at Beloit Memorial Hospital is hiring for a Student Radiology Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab. The role supports Radiologic Technologists and Nursing staff in Cath Lab procedures and patient care, with varied 1st shift per diem hours.

Responsibilities include patient transport, chart prep, pre/post-procedure tasks, aseptic technique, contrast selection, lab cleaning, phone calls, basic life support, and supplies stocking.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled in an accredited Radiology program.
• CPR certification within 3 months of hire.
• Strong communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Basic computer skills; EMR experience helpful.

Responsibilities

• Move and transport patients.
• Procedure chart preparation: pulling old charts, printing patient ID stickers, referencing past studies in Synapse cardiovascular.
• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Assist in pull of supplies, pre-procedure room preparation, patient preparation, procedure flow and post-procedure care.
• Practice aseptic techniques as necessary.
• Select contrast based on patient lab work.
• Assist in cleaning of the labs and rooms.
• Answer phone and take messages.
• Initiate basic life support if necessary.
• Stock supplies/linens/contrast in procedure rooms.

The Student Radiology Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab assists Radiologic Technologists and Nursing staff in the performance of their duties. The Student Radiology Technologist provides patient care essential to Cath Lab procedures using imaging modalities as prescribed by a physician. The Student Radiology Technologist in the Cardiac Catheterization Lab will:

• Move and transporting of patients.
• Procedure chart preparation: pulling of old chart to act as a resource, printing patient ID stickers, referencing past studies in Synapse cardiovascular for that patient and preparing billing slips.
• Greet patients in a friendly, professional manner.
• Help/assist in the following: pulling supplies, pre-procedure room preparation, patient preparation, procedure flow and post-procedure care of the patient.
• Practices aseptic techniques as necessary.
• Selects contrast based on patient lab work.
• Assist in cleaning of the labs and room
• Answer phone and takes messages.
• Initiate basic life support if necessary.
