Job summary

Nebraska Methodist Health System in Council Bluffs, IA is seeking a Student Radiologic Technologist to support diagnostic imaging at Methodist Jennie Edmundson Hospital.

The position is casual/prn with shifts that may vary and require weekend and holiday availability. Education and licensing requirements include current enrollment in Radiologic Technology, and RAD.TEMP or RAD.LIM license, plus BLS preferred.

Qualifications

• Currently enrolled at senior level in Radiologic Technology program.
• Temporary Medical Radiographer (RAD.TEMP) or Limited Radiologic Technologist (RAD.LIM) license required for work state.
• Current American Heart Association BLS strongly preferred at time of hire, required within 3 months of hire.

Responsibilities

• Performs limited diagnostic radiographic procedures within scope of license.
• Performs and ensures safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner.
• Provides patient education and responds to patient and customer concerns.
• Complete documentation of patient x-ray record and Quality Control processes.
• Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.

Work Schedule: This is a casual/prn position. Casual employees work on an ‘as needed’ basis to meet the needs of the business. Shifts may vary from week to week. Will also be required to be available to work weekends and holidays.

Performs limited diagnostic radiographic procedures under the supervision of a Nebraska licensed Medical Radiographer registered by the American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT).

1. Performs limited diagnostic radiographic procedures within scope of license. Radiographic procedures must not include CT, administration of contrast media, fluoroscopy or mammography.

2. Performs and ensures safe, knowledgeable age-specific patient care in a holistic manner.

3. Provides patient education and responds to patient and customer concerns.

4. Complete documentation of patient x-ray record and Quality Control processes.

5. Performs value-added activities that result in positive financial performance and customer satisfaction.
