Job summary

Living Stones Church in Katy, Texas is seeking a full-time Student Pastor to shepherd students in grades 6–12, build a biblically grounded discipleship strategy, and lead a growing ministry alongside volunteers. You will report to the Lead Pastor and collaborate with the church family to engage students on campuses and in weekend events.

The role requires a bachelor's degree or higher, 1 year of student ministry experience (2 years preferred), strong biblical teaching, and a heart for mentoring

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree preferred; seminary degree valued but not required.
• 1 year experience running a student ministry; 2 years preferred.
• Strong biblical knowledge and ability to teach Scripture to youth.
• Experience leading volunteers and building ministry teams.
• Ability to manage ministry calendar and budget.

Responsibilities

• Develop and lead a biblically grounded discipleship strategy for students in grades 6–12.
• Teach God’s Word in a faithful, engaging, understandable, and practical way.
• Lead Sunday morning student ministry and the weekly student gathering, creating a healthy balance of teaching, small groups, worship, fellowship, outreach, and service.
• Provide pastoral care, encouragement, and appropriate spiritual guidance to students and their families.
• Plan and oversee camps, retreats, mission opportunities, outreach events, and service projects.
• Recruit, train, encourage, and equip adult volunteers to disciple and care for students.
• Build strong partnerships with parents and provide clear, consistent ministry communication.
• Create a culture where students invite friends, share the gospel, and reach students beyond Living Stones.
• Develop an annual ministry calendar, manage the student ministry budget responsibly, and ensure compliance with all church safety policies.
• Work collaboratively with the Lead Pastor, staff, elders, volunteers, and other ministry leaders while participating fully in the life of Living Stones Church.

We believe students are not merely the future of the Church. They are an important part of the Church today. We are seeking a full-time Student Pastor who will help our students follow Jesus, develop a biblical worldview, experience meaningful Christian community, and live as faithful witnesses on their campuses.

The Opportunity

The Student Pastor will provide spiritual, relational, and organizational leadership for Living Stones Church’s ministry to students in grades 6–12. This pastor will inherit an existing ministry with committed volunteer leaders, Sunday morning programming, and a weekly student gathering. Middle school and high school students currently participate in a combined ministry environment.

This is an opportunity to bring renewed vision, energy, and direction to a ministry ready for its next season. The Student Pastor will report directly to the Lead Pastor and serve as an active member of the Living Stones staff and church family.

What You Will Lead

What We Are Looking For

• A growing and authentic relationship with Jesus Christ and a clear calling to student ministry.
• Agreement with and faithful support of the doctrine, mission, vision, values, and leadership of Living Stones Church.
• Strong biblical knowledge and the ability to communicate Scripture effectively to middle and high school students.
• Experience leading volunteers and building healthy ministry teams.
• Strong relational, organizational, administrative, and communication skills.
• Humility, integrity, emotional maturity, initiative, dependability, and a collaborative spirit.
• Good judgment and appropriate boundaries when working with minors, including successful completion of required background checks and safety training.
• A bachelor’s degree is preferred. A seminary or ministry-related graduate degree is preferred but not required. Relevant experience and demonstrated ministry effectiveness will be carefully considered.
• 1 year experience running a Student Ministry is required. 2 Years, preferred.
