Job summary

County of San Diego seeks a motivated Organizing Intern as part of the Student Organizer Internship Program. The student organizer will report to the Organizing Director and assist in advancing an economic justice and pro-environmental agenda by supporting community partners and coordinating events across District 3.

The role requires 15-20 hours per week for Fall 2026, with flexible scheduling including some evenings and weekends.

Qualifications

• Applicants must be full-time students at a vocational program, job readiness program, or accredited college or university with at least a 2.0 semester/quarter GPA.
• Interest in elevating a transformative agenda at the San Diego County Board of Supervisors.
• Strong interpersonal skills and experience in community organizing, grassroots organizations, casework, customer care, or communications.
• Bilingual speaking & writing skills welcome.

Responsibilities

• Attend community meetings and events to represent and speak on behalf of the County Supervisor.
• Collaborate with team members to develop outreach strategies for diverse communities.
• Gather data on multiple tracking systems.
• Assist in organizing community events on topics from environmental to smart justice.
• Assist with administrative tasks.
