Summary of Position

Responsible to a registered nurse for performing basic bedside care and activities of daily living procedures. The student nurse trainee will be assigned to a designated unit and partnered with a patient care assistant until training completion. Students must commit to a two-week orientation period. Student nurse trainee will be expected to work 12 hours per quarter in order to ensure they are up to date with organizational procedures and processes to continue in the program.

Our student nurse trainee program is a wonderful way for a student in an ASN or BSN program, who has completed their first clinicals, to gain experience in a clinical setting.

Department Description

Nurses in the 18-bed unit care for patients undergoing treatment for pediatric cancer or blood disorders. Special training is provided for chemotherapy administration and management of emerging cancer-directed therapies.

Minimum Qualifications
  • Nursing student of an accredited Nursing Program and one clinical rotation, or a Graduate Nurse without Boards required.
