Cleveland Clinic Hillcrest Hospital is seeking a Student Nurse PRN to support nursing teams and gain hands-on patient care experience while pursuing your degree. The role offers shift flexibility and opportunities for mentorship within a Magnet-recognized facility.

You will work under the supervision of RNs, participate in direct patient interactions, document care, and contribute to a high standard of nursing practice. This is a pathway into full-time nursing opportunities at Cleveland Clinic.

Qualificações

• High School Diploma or GED.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Cross within new hire period.
• Nursing students may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.
• Military experience as a HM/68W/4N0X1 will be considered.
• Demonstrate proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level.

This position offers aspiring nurses the opportunity to gain hands‑on patient care experience while earning their degree, with scheduling flexibility designed to support academic commitments. As a Student Nurse PCNA, nursing students will build confidence and familiarity through direct interaction with patients and fellow caregivers across clinical units, while benefiting from mentorship and guidance from experienced nursing professionals. This role serves as an excellent pathway into a full‑time nursing career at Cleveland Clinic.

A caregiver in this position works PRN (as needed) variable shifts. Working a minimum of 64 hours is required from June 2027 – August 2027.

These positions are reserved for active RN nursing students All other candidates are encouraged to apply for our other nursing support roles.

A caregiver who excels in this role will:

• Provide or assist with patient care under the supervision of an RN. Patient care may include vital signs, weight, assisting patients with personal care and activities of daily living, patient transfers/transport, pulse oximetry, point of care testing, dressing changes, applying external monitoring devices and removing urinary Foley catheter.

• Report abnormal findings or changes in physical, mental and emotional conditions to an RN.

• Assist with keeping patients’ rooms clean and orderly.

• Competencies in both the professional, technical and clinical knowledge domains must be demonstrated in a safe, effective and efficient manner.

Minimum qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• High School Diploma or GED

• Basic Life Support (BLS) Certification through the American Heart Association (AHA) or American Red Crosswithin new hire period. Nursing students must have prior to hire.

• Nursing students who have recently completed a minimum of one clinical rotation as part of an accredited nursing school program may substitute the clinical rotation for the required experience.

• Military experience as a Hospital Corpsman (HM), Combat Medic (68W) or Medical Service Technician (4N0X1) will be considered

• Demonstrate proficiency in applied mathematics & reading comprehension at minimum junior high level

Preferred qualifications for the ideal future caregiver include:

• State Tested Nursing Assistant (STNA)

Physical Requirements:

• Requires full body motion to move and lift patients, manual finger dexterity with good eye-hand coordination; involves extensive standing and walking.
• Medium Work - Exerting 20 to 50 pounds of force occasionally, and/or 10 to 25 pounds of force frequently, and/or greater than negligible up to 10 pounds of force constantly to move objects.
• Physical Demand requirements are in excess of those for Light Work.

Personal Protective Equipment:

• Follows standard precautions using personal protective equipment as required.
