Job summary

Robertson Media Center Consultants at UVA seek student consultants with knowledge of computer hardware and media production to help patrons complete projects.

You will check out equipment, advise on the best software and hardware, and support spaces for video, audio, 3D, VR and AR creation. Expect to work 7–10 hours weekly in two-hour shifts, with a focus on excellent customer service and lifelong learning. Federal work-study eligibility is required.

Qualifications

• Current UVA undergraduate or graduate student with federal work-study eligibility.
• Strong customer service and communication skills.
• Willingness to learn hardware and software including 3D printing and VR.
• Experience with Adobe Creative Suite, Logic Pro, Final Cut Pro, Garageband, Audacity is a plus.
• Ability to advise patrons on equipment and software.

Responsibilities

• Check out equipment to patrons.
• Consult with faculty, staff and students about what equipment and software will best complete projects.
• Assist patrons with software and equipment usage.
