Job summary

First Presbyterian Church Jackson seeks a committed Director of Student Ministry to lead Junior and Senior High ministries, discipling students in a biblically faithful, relationally engaging, and spiritually vibrant environment.

You will equip volunteers, staff and parents, lead a 3-4 person youth team, plan year-round programming, manage calendars and budgets, and report to the Minister of Students and Families.

Qualifications

• Committed evangelical Christian with vibrant faith and desire to serve students and parents through Gospel ministry.
• Agreement with the doctrinal beliefs and ministry philosophy of First Presbyterian Church.
• Demonstrated ability to teach Scripture, disciple students, and lead with spiritual maturity.
• Strong relational, leadership, planning, administrative, and communication skills.
• Bachelor’s degree required; theological training or ministry experience preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead Junior High and Senior High student ministry and disciple students.
• Provide pastoral care and relational presence among students and parents.
• Oversee staff and interns; conduct weekly staff meetings.
• Plan and organize a year-round student ministry program (grades 7–12).
• Coordinate ministry calendars with other church areas to improve alignment.
• Support church-wide ministries and collaborate with ministers, staff, and volunteers.
