Student Ministries Director (for Children and Youth Ministry)
The Student Ministries Director is responsible for planning, organizing, promoting, monitoring, and coordinating meaningful and relevant children and youth activities which provide opportunities for spiritual growth, faith development, fellowship, and fun.
- Coordinate Sunday school for all children and youth for successful growth, including but not limited to recruiting volunteers, delegating assignments, curriculum selection and program development.
- Plan and lead regular youth group meetings for successful growth, including but not limited to recruiting volunteers, delegating assignments, curriculum selection and program development. (Which would normally include one evening a week.)
- Partner with the pastors and Discipleship to support and lead the Confirmation program when needed.
- Plan and oversee special youth events, mission trips, retreats, etc., in collaboration with the Discipleship Committee.
- Support the planning and execution of key ministry events in collaboration with the Discipleship Committee such as Children’s Easter Party, Children/Youth Service, Palm Parade, Bible Presentation, and family focused programming.
- Serve as Liaison to external organizations and community groups involving children and youth.
- Develop and grow ministry opportunities that support and engage families (with children) including tracking participation, engagement and feedback to evaluate and strengthen the ministry.
- Maintain consistent and effective communication with youth and their parents (parent meetings) using all means necessary, including texting and social media. In addition, communicate with staff, church committees, congregation, and volunteers.
