Job summary

Calista Corporation is seeking a Student Mechanical Project Engineer to assist with takeoffs, RFIs, submittals, and documentation on Alaska-based projects. You will support scheduling, field coordination, and progress tracking while gaining exposure to piping, HVAC, and fabrication activities.

The temporary position targets students in related programs and is expected to last about four months, with potential extension based on project needs and performance.

Qualifications

  • Enrollment in related postsecondary program and interest in mechanical construction.
  • Basic understanding of mechanical systems, drawings, and project requirements.
  • Ability to learn and apply technical information under supervision.

Responsibilities

  • Assist with mechanical takeoffs using drawings and specs.
  • Review mechanical drawings, equipment schedules, and project requirements.
  • Support quantity tracking, project documentation, and material coordination.
  • Assist with RFIs, submittals, and procurement status tracking.
  • Coordinate mechanical scopes of work and field activities as needed.
  • Prepare daily reports and project documentation; travel to Alaska sites.
