Job summary

ECMC Group, a nonprofit focused on helping students succeed, is seeking an Outreach Associate to contact student loan borrowers throughout the loan lifecycle and discuss repayment options.

Under supervision, you will make outbound calls, inform borrowers about responsibilities and options, and maintain accurate documentation. 1+ year of office or customer service experience and a high school diploma are required; bilingual Spanish/English is a plus.

• Bilingual in Spanish and English preferred.

Responsibilities

• Make outbound calls to counsel borrowers on options to manage loans and stay current.
• Inform borrowers of responsibilities and consequences of default.
• Handle predictive dialer transfers within required measures.
• Maintain clear, accurate documentation of borrower accounts.
• Stay updated on laws and options affecting student loan repayment.
• Update loan status in the system of record.
• Participate in work group activities to solve problems or improve processes.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Job Summary

Under supervision, contacts student loan borrowers throughout loan lifecycle to discuss their ability to repay their student loans and offer options for keeping or bringing the loan current.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities

• Makes outbound calls to students and references to counsel them on options to manage student loans and to keep/bring loans to a current status through payment, forbearance or deferment.

• Communicates with borrowers by telephone, mail and/or email to inform them of their responsibilities and the consequences of default.

• Receives predictive telephone dialer system transfers and handles them within required measures.

• Maintains clear, concise and accurate documentation of borrower accounts, including all contact made and received.

• Maintains current and accurate knowledge of laws and regulations affecting the repayment of student loans, including the consequences of default, and the various payment/deferment options available to borrowers.

• Updates loan status on system of record.

• Participates in work group activities to solve problems or improve processes.

• Performs other related duties as assigned.

Required Qualifications

• High School diploma or GED

• 1+ year of office/business, clerical or customer service experience
  

Preferred Qualifications

• 1 year of call center experience

• 1 year of financial industry experience, including student loans, collections and/or banking

• Bilingual in Spanish and English

The hourly pay for this position is $20.00.
