Job Description

STUDENT LEARNING ADVOCATE(S) - TEMPORARY POSITION - SIX MONTHS

This is an AmeriCorps national service position. It is contingent on funding and open until filled. Members will participate in the Hockinson School District's Student Success Project. This project directly reflects the district's motto: Preparing all students for future success. HSD has a renewed commitment to student-centered learning, which shifts the focus from teaching to learning and ensures that those learning experiences are equitable and occur in a supportive environment. We recognize that every student comes with unique assets and needs. Our goal is to elevate the strengths and gifts that students bring to our learning spaces and partner with them to address needs that help them reach their full potential as a learner. The Student Success Project is designed in support of the Hockinson Heights Elementary School Vision: All students will be proficient in reading by the end of second grade and will maintain proficiency until the end of fifth grade because we believe reading is the key for all students to achieve their dreams. The WRC member will partner with school leaders and intervention specialists to provide this academic support.
