Job summary

The advisor enforces MSHSL rules, district policies, hires and evaluates assistants when applicable, and ensures a safe, structured environment for student participants. Wage schedule applies.

Responsibilities

• Advise students in the skills necessary for successful participation.
• Manage student behavior during activity events.
• Administer advising/coaching of enrichment team.
• Create a positive learning environment for participants.
• Plan and schedule seasonal activities per district policy.
• Coordinate with the Student Activities Office for event spaces.
• Perform other similar duties as required.
• Enforce MS High School League rules and district policies.
• Assist Director with hiring and evaluation of assistant advisors.
• Take precautions to protect students, equipment, and facilities; maintain an emergency action plan.
• Recommend equipment and supplies to the Director.
• Enforce discipline and sportsmanship and penalties.
• Attend, supervise and lead related activities.
