Job summary

Regent University is seeking a student intern to assist with GRC activities and vendor risk assessments within the Information Security Department. You will monitor security dashboards, review tool outputs, and help maintain SharePoint documentation.

You will participate in DFIR trainings and security projects while gaining hands-on experience under supervision. Salary is $13.00 per hour and this role is not benefits eligible.

Qualifications

• Must be a current Regent University student and eligible for Federal Work Study.
• Enrolled in Cybersecurity, Information Technology, Computer Science, or related field.
• Familiar with SIEM, EDR, and firewalls.
• Strong written and verbal communication; confidentiality required.

Responsibilities

• Assist with Governance, Risk, and Compliance (GRC) activities
• Support vendor risk assessment processes
• Monitor and review Google Workspace alerts and dashboards
• Review security tool dashboards including SentinelOne, Varonis, and Proofpoint
• Conduct research on emerging security threats, vulnerabilities, and best practices
• Support Student SOC initiative
• Organize and maintain the Information Security Department's SharePoint site
• Participate in monthly Digital Forensics and Incident Response (DFIR) lab trainings
• Participate in security projects such as tabletop exercises, phishing simulations, and security assessments
• Help maintain security documentation including SOPs and playbooks
• Support incident response activities by gathering information and documenting findings as able under supervision
