Job summary

American Family Insurance in Madison, WI is seeking a litigation division paralegal intern to support discovery, deposition prep, and trial preparations under supervision.

This paid internship is primarily office-based, with 4+ days per week on-site, and offers exposure to senior staff and a variety of litigation tasks within the division.

Enrollment in a bachelor's, master's, or doctoral program is required, with at least 24 credit hours completed before starting the term.

• Generate creative ideas and actions in response to changing situations.
• Plans and supports small projects with direction from management.
• May assist and perform duties alongside professionals in the department.

Job description

As a litigation division paralegal intern, you will support different phases of the litigation process including discovery, administrative tasks, and participation in deposition and trial preparation. Under the direction of a senior level employee or manager you will work on projects that support the litigation division's goals and results. You will complete tasks using both prior knowledge and technical skills appropriate to the job assignment, while adapting to new or changing situations in a team environment.

• May assume the responsibilities normally performed in the department, alongside professionals who perform these roles.

Additional Job Information

In this paid, primarily office-based role, you will be expected to spend at least 80% of your time (4+ days per week) working from the office. Candidates should reside within approximately 35-50 miles of one of the following office locations: Madison, WI 53783.

This is a paid internship.
