Job summary

Southeast Health in Arkansas is seeking a Radiologic Technologist to coordinate and perform diagnostic radiologic exams, operate all radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment, and follow radiation safety rules to protect patients and staff.

You will provide coverage for the emergency department, surgery and other areas, maintain patient privacy, document exams in PACS, and ensure accurate billing with the hospital computer system.

Qualifications

• Must be ARRT-registered within 1 year of graduation or hire.
• Two+ years imaging experience preferred.
• Graduate of an AMA/COE-recognized radiologic technology program.
• CPR certification required.

Responsibilities

• Coordinate and perform diagnostic radiologic exams.
• Operate radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment with safety rules.
• Provide ER, surgery, and other procedural coverage as needed.
• Maintain patient information confidentiality and privacy.
• Document exams in PACS and ensure correct billing.

Job Description Summary

Operates all radiologic and fluoroscopic equipment and observes all radiation safety rules concerning patients, co-workers, self and others. Provides coverage to the emergency room, surgery and any other situations requesting radiologic procedures

Essential Functions

• Manages all information obtained with strict confidentiality to safeguard patient information from use by unauthorized personnel.
• Follows Southeast Health Center’s safety guidelines for self, patients, visitors, and employees.
• Follows Southeast Health Center’s infection prevention policies.
• Independently handles communications in a manner, which decreases conflict.
• Is familiar with and follows hospital wide Radiation Policy and rules set forth by the Alabama Department of Public Health Division of Radiation Control
• Understand the preparation required for departmental exams.
• Uses the PACS System in documenting correctly and accurately patient information to insure the quality of patient care.
• Uses the computer system correctly in charging the correct patient account with correct exams and supplies.
• Demonstrates the ability to perform all exams in the department. Has taken the initiative to insure one’s own competency with each exam.
• Communicates accurate patient history and symptoms to Radiologist.

Qualifications

Minimum Experience Required

• Registered by as a Technologist by American Registry of Radiologic Technologists within one (1) year of graduation date or within one (1) year of hire.

Minimum Experience Preferred

• Two (2) or more years of imaging experience

Minimum Education Required

• Graduate of a recognized, approved American Medical Association Council of Education program in radiologic technology.
• CPR Certification

Minimum Education Preferred

• Completion of a undergraduate degree

Required Skills/Abilities

• Basic typing and computer skills.
• Experience in operating personal computers in a Windows environment.
• Customer service oriented.
• Annual completion of competency requirements.
• Call support to the hospital within 30 minutes of notification.
