Job summary

Entergy's Contractor Utility Operations Safety (CUO Safety) team seeks a student intern to support day-to-day safety operations and project work, helping develop, deliver, and coach safety policies and procedures.

The role builds partnerships with distribution operations and support functions to improve the Safety and Occupational Health Management System, with limited travel to Entergy sites as needed.

Qualifications

• Pursuing an undergraduate or master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health or related field.
• Minimum GPA 2.8 on a 4.0 scale, verified by official transcript.

Responsibilities

• Provides support for Contractor Utility Operations Safety day-to-day tasks.
• Limited travel to work sites within Entergy service territories.
• Support the development, delivery and deployment of assigned safety program components.
• Analyze and monitor observation tools, indicators and actions related to safety observation program.
• Participate in safety event analysis and learning studies.
• Participate in System Incident Response efforts as part of Entergy Incident Command Structure as assigned.
• Participating in Contractor Safety process development and deployment.

* Role is responsible for providing support for Contractor Utility Operations Safety day-to-day operations and team projects. CUO Safety is tasked with developing, delivering, maintaining, observing, and coaching safety policies and procedures. This role will require building and maintaining partnerships within distribution operations and other support functions to properly facilitate the development and continuous improvement of the Safety and Occupational Health Management System.

*Job Duties/Responsibilities:

* Provides support for Contractor Utility Operations Safety day-to-day tasks Limited travel to work sites within Entergy service territories Support the Development, Delivery and Deployment of assigned safety program components Analyze and monitor observation tools, indicators and actions related to safety observation prpgram Participate in safety event analysis and learning studies Participate in System Incident Response efforts as a part of the Entergy Incident Command Structure as assigned Participating in Contractor Safety process development and deployment

*Minimum Education required of the position:

* Candidates must be actively enrolled in pursuing an undergrad or master's degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Industrial Safety, Industrial Hygiene, Public Health or another related field. Must have a minimum cumulative GPA of 2.8 (on a 4.0 scale), verified through an official transcript from the previous semester.
