Job summary

Auburn University COSAM Communications and Marketing seeks a Student Graphic Designer to gain real-world experience creating digital and print materials for COSAM campaigns. The role offers hands-on opportunities to contribute to marketing efforts that reflect the college’s mission and achievements.

The ideal candidate will be creative, driven, and able to work independently or with others in a fast-paced academic environment and occasionally attend events outside normal hours.

Qualifications

• Current Auburn University student in good academic standing.
• Strong written and verbal communication skills.
• Ability to meet project deadlines.
• Good judgment and professionalism when representing COSAM and Auburn University online.
• Ability to work independently and with a team.
• Willingness to attend events outside regular office hours.
• Preferred: basic pdf prep for print vendors, photography experience, color format familiarity.

Responsibilities

• Assist with marketing and communications projects to promote COSAM goals.
• Support development and execution of marketing and communication plans.
• Create digital content including graphics, videos, and media for COSAM platforms.
• Perform general office duties and help prepare materials for events or campaigns.
• Help with event photography as needed and design print/promotional materials.
• Ensure designs adhere to Auburn University brand guidelines.

Overview

The College of Science and MathematicsCommunications and Marketing team is seeking a talented and motivated Student Graphic Designer. This position offers real-world experience in a professional setting. This role provides hands‑on opportunities to create digital and print materials and a chance to contribute to marketing campaigns that showcase the college’s vision, mission, and achievements.

The ideal candidate will bring creativity, strong design skills, and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively in a dynamic environment.

Responsibilities

• Assist with various marketing and communications projects, contributing to the promotion of COSAM’s goals.
• Support the development and execution of marketing and communication plans.
• Assist in the creation of digital content, including graphics, videos, and other media for COSAM’s digital platforms.
• Perform general office duties, such as responding to emails and helping prepare materials for events or campaigns.
• Help with event photography as needed.
• Assist in the creation of print and promotional materials, such as: invitations, posters, flyers, programs, t-shirts and more.
• Assist in designing meaningful pieces that both showcase COSAM and adhere to Auburn University brand guidelines.

Minimum Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

Preferred Qualifications include:

• Basic understanding of how to prepare pdf files for print vendors.
• Experience with photography
• Familiarity with preparing files for different color formats (RGB, CMYK, Pantone).
