Job summary

The University of Kansas invites applications for a Laboratory Assistant in the Geochemistry Lab of the Kansas Geological Survey. The role supports analysis of water and aqueous solutions using alkalinity, IC, and ICP instrumentation with training provided.

• Currently enrolled KU student in chemistry, engineering, geology, environmental science, etc.
• Demonstrated organizational skills, self-reliance, and meticulous attention to detail, as evidenced by application materials.

Responsibilities

• Operate analytical instruments (e.g., titration for alkalinity, conductivity) under supervision.
• Perform essential lab tasks: sample filtration, acid addition, glassware maintenance, sample weighing.
• Prepare standards and samples for analysis; assist with other duties as assigned.
