Job summary

American Food & Vending is hiring a Student Food Service Worker to assist the Dining Services team in delivering excellent service. You will greet guests, serve menu items from a station or serving line, and help with daily food station operations.

The role emphasizes teamwork, safety, and customer interaction in a fast-paced dining hall environment. Weekly pay and flexible shifts support students balancing class schedules.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in customer service, food service, or retail preferred.
• Able to work well in a team and independently.
• Ability to stay task-focused in a fast-paced environment.
• Basic math skills and the ability to read, write, and communicate effectively.
• Must be able to lift 50lbs, bend, climb stairs, stand, and walk for the entire shift.

Responsibilities

• Help team members to prepare and serve menu items for a food station.
• Greet and serve guests in a fast, efficient, and friendly manner.
• Follow health and safety guidelines.
• Assist guests as they navigate the dining hall, and answer questions regarding menu offerings.
• Cashier duties may include operating a POS, accepting payment for food and beverage purchases.
• Assist with labels and packaging food for take-out menus and mobile ordering.
• Clean, organize, stock, and maintain kitchen, equipment, utensils, and general areas.
• May be assigned other duties and responsibilities as needed.
