Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent education and experience.
• Strong customer service and communication skills interacting with students, coworkers, and staff.
• Ability to stand for extended periods, walk, and handle utensils, equipment, and food.
• Ability to work under pressure and manage interruptions.
• Capable of working independently and prioritizing work.
• Tactful when interacting with others.
• Ability to follow instructions and take supervisory guidance.
• Knowledge of cooking procedures and equipment is a plus.
• Proficiency in English, including spelling and grammar.

Responsibilities

• Complete tasks as assigned by the Department Head, Kitchen Manager, and Food & Nutrition Director.
• Prepare food following standardized recipes and proper food safety protocols.
• Safely operate kitchen equipment and maintain sanitary work conditions.
• Clean and maintain food service equipment and facilities.
• Serve food in accordance with state guidelines and food safety.
• Foster positive relationships with students and staff.
• Assist with record-keeping and inventory management; receive training and progress through levels.
• Maintain high ethical standards and confidentiality of information.
• Adhere to district policies and program guidelines.
• Ensure regular attendance and perform other duties as assigned.
