Job summary

Tempe Union High School District is seeking a Family and Community Engagement Liaison to strengthen school-family-community connections and reduce barriers to graduation. You will support attendance initiatives, engage families, and coordinate culturally enriching activities across campuses.

The role involves collaboration with administration and counseling staff, occasional evening/weekend duties, and compliance with federal/tribal program requirements to ensure student persistence and success.

Qualifications

• High School Diploma required.
• Experience working with high school-aged students preferred.
• Bilingual skills preferred, fluency in Spanish or an Indigenous language is highly desirable.
• Strong oral and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Assist administration in attendance improvement and drop-out prevention.
• Maintain consistent communication with students and families regarding attendance and academic progress.
• Conduct home visits using personal transportation when appropriate and approved.
• Apply trauma-informed and strengths-based strategies to support students experiencing challenges.
• Collaborate with counseling and administrative staff to support student persistence and graduation pathways.
• Develop and maintain a two-way communication link between the school and families, community partners, and local organizations.
• Plan, organize, and execute cultural family engagement nights and other community-based events.
• Support school-related events outside regular hours, including evenings and weekends.
• Maintain records of outreach, home visits, family engagement activities, and student participation.
