Qualifications

  • Eligible for a valid Dual Language Specialization or comparable training.
  • For Dual Language Specialization evaluators: Eligible for, or holds, a valid Dual Language Specialization on an Oregon teaching license or comparable experience and training in dual-language instruction.
  • Has advanced proficiency in Spanish.
  • Master’s degree in Education.
  • At least two years of teaching experience immediately prior to this position.
  • Experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the content to be evaluated.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate successfully and inclusively with varied audiences.
  • Understanding of the needs and challenges of underrepresented students.

Responsibilities

  • Observe, advise, and evaluate student teachers in field placements.

Job Summary

The College of Education invites applications for part‑time, professional faculty Student Evaluator positions to evaluate student teachers for the Spring and Fall terms in the 2026 academic year. The purpose of this position is to supervise student teachers in undergraduate and graduate licensure‑related programs during the academic year, and to advance the missions of the College’s Education and Teaching major program areas.

Key Responsibilities
  • Observe, advise, and evaluate student teachers remotely and in person in their field placement internships.
  • Mediate the relationship with cooperating teachers.
What You Will Need
  • Earned Bachelor’s degree in Education.
  • At least three years of teaching experience in K‑12 public schools.
  • Eligible for, or holds, a valid teaching license for the content area of evaluation.
  • For ESOL student teacher evaluators only: Eligible for, or holds, a valid ESOL endorsement on an Oregon teaching license.
  • Ability to help students navigate and implement practices that are fair, unbiased, and respectful of all individuals, including recognizing microaggressions and addressing unfair practices.

For Dual Language Specialization student evaluators only:

  • Eligible for, or holds, a valid Dual Language Specialization on an Oregon teaching license or has comparable experience and training in dual‑language instruction.
  • Has advanced proficiency in Spanish.

  • Experience teaching, training, or facilitating learning or developing curriculum in the content to be evaluated.
