Job summary

RESPEC seeks a Student Engineer (Structural) Intern for our Summer Internship 2027 program in our Morgantown, WV office. This is a temporary part-time position offering real-world experience in a growing North American engineering firm.

The ideal candidate is pursuing a civil engineering degree and has coursework in structural design, plus strong problem-solving, math and communication skills. Team players with basic AutoCAD/Revit knowledge are encouraged to apply.

Qualifications

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering.
• Solid time management skills and ability to produce accurate, high-quality work.
• Coursework in steel, wood, concrete, and precast/prestressed concrete design.
• Good working knowledge of fundamentals of structural engineering concepts.
• Self-motivated and detail-oriented.
• Strong problem-solving and math skills.
• Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
• Team player who strives to provide quality work.
• Some proficiency with AutoCAD Revit.

• Assist with design work
• Perform calculations and simulations
• Research topics as assigned
• Assist with field inspections

The ideal candidate will have the following

• Pursuing a Bachelor's or Master's degree in civil engineering

Preferred qualifications include the following

Compensation

Compensation depends on experience. No benefits are offered except those that are required for statutory purposes.

Work Schedule

During the summer months; 40 hours/week.
