Job summary

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree with social services coursework and one year of counseling experience.
• Must hold a valid driver’s license and qualify for company-sponsored vehicle insurance.
• Sound knowledge of counseling techniques, strong oral and written communication, and understanding of disadvantaged youth.

Responsibilities

• Counsel students in all aspects of center life, including personal and social development and vocational training.
• Document monthly student counseling sessions and submit reports as needed.
• Perform intake and needs assessments for individuals.
• Assist students in continuing education or community training and connecting with services for transition from school to work.
• Participate in staff training and regular meetings with the mental health consultant.
• Coordinate with parents and admissions counselors and refer to local resources.
