Job summary

The University of Central Missouri (UCM) is seeking a part-time Grounds Assistant to support the Facilities Planning & Operations Grounds Department in maintaining campus grounds, landscaping, and outdoor campus areas. Responsibilities include mowing, trimming, edging, weed control, mulching, litter removal, planting flowers and shrubs, and operating basic grounds equipment.

Hours are Monday through Friday, no more than 20 hours per week.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred; must be enrolled as a student at the University.

Responsibilities

• Maintain campus grounds and landscaped areas, including mowing, trimming, edging, weeding, mulching, and litter removal.
• Assist with planting flowers, shrubs, and trees; perform routine maintenance of tools and equipment.
• Operate basic grounds tools safely and in accordance with procedures.
• Assist with leaf collection and seasonal grounds maintenance activities.
• Support campus events with setup and teardown and general labor tasks.
• Assist with snow and ice removal and weather-related operations as needed.
• Complete other duties as assigned by supervisory staff.
