Job summary

Bettendorf Community School District is seeking a dependable Transportation (Bus) Aide to join the transportation team and help provide a safe, positive transportation experience for students. This role supports the bus driver with student needs and supervision, with an emphasis on safety and confidentiality.

Start Date: As Soon As Possible. Schedule: ~45 hours per week. Hourly rate: $20.15/hour. Must pass background checks and provide I-9 documentation to work in the United States.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent preferred.
• Ability to work effectively with students of varying ages and needs.
• Dependable, punctual, and able to maintain a consistent schedule.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Must complete background checks and employment requirements.
• Must provide I-9 documentation to verify eligibility to work in the United States.

Responsibilities

• Assist students with safely entering and exiting the school bus.
• Provide supervision and support to students while the bus is in operation.
• Assist students with seat belts, safety equipment, or other transportation needs as necessary.
• Support the bus driver in maintaining a safe and orderly environment.
• Follow student-specific transportation and safety plans as directed.
• Communicate appropriately with transportation staff, school staff, students, and families.
• Respond calmly and appropriately to student needs or emergency situations.
• Maintain confidentiality regarding students and district information.
• Perform other transportation-related duties as assigned.
