St. Olaf College in Northfield, MN is seeking a Norseman Band Student Manager (WS-ST3) to assist with rehearsal and concert logistics on campus and during tours.

The role is a student employee (non-exempt) paying $12.00–$13.00 per hour, requiring strong leadership, organization, and reliable driving for campus events. If selected, you will coordinate crews, set up chairs and equipment, and work closely with staff and conductors to ensure smooth performances.

Qualifications

• Strong leadership and communication skills for student staff.
• Knowledge of band stage configurations and equipment.
• Experience with scheduling truck transfers, stage setups, rehearsals, and performances.
• Active St. Olaf College Approved Driver.
• Must commit to a one-year position.
• Preference for Norseman Band experience.

Responsibilities

• Set chairs, stands, and instruments for weekly rehearsals.
• Schedule and supervise student crews for on-campus dress rehearsals and performances.
• Supervise student crews for off-campus dress rehearsals and performances.
• Manage communication with Music Organizations staff, Music Department staff, conductor, and ensemble members.
• Drive the college-owned truck for on-campus performances.
• Assist with auditions as needed/directed by the conductor.
